Letter from the Co-Chairs
As we begin another academic year at Christopher Newport University we are reminded of the great people and traditions at CNU. We are fortunate to work at a very special place, surrounded by friends and colleagues who, everyday, are changing lives. Everyone on campus is dedicated to helping improve the future by educating the next generation of citizens. Among our traditions is the spirit of generosity that is found across the campus as staff and faculty give of their time, talents and treasure to improve our community.
This year, our faculty staff campaign is "Achieving Greatness." With your help, this is exactly what we will do. We hope you'll give as generously as you can to this years campaign. The University has many unmet needs and your unrestricted gift will allow us to fund our highest priorities.
We look forward to the October opening of our newest jewel on campus - the Trible Library. The library is critical to the core mission of our university. We have the opportunity to enlarge our collection and ask that you consider purchasing a much needed book. Your gift recognition will include a personalized bookplate in the book and in the online catalog. You may make your selection of a book purchase from the subjects that need additional titles.
Last year more than 90% of the staff and faculty contributed a total of $142,051. This year we are striving for 100% participation so we can continue "Achieving Greatness." Your willingness to contribute will continue to transform CNU and provide current students, faculty and staff with greatly needed resources.
Again this year, faculty and staff members who make a gift or pledge during the seven week campaign will be entered into weekly drawings for valuable prizes. Make your gift early to increase your chance of winning prizes including gift certificates, free CNU parking, basketball and football tickets and both theater and Ferguson Center tickets!
We want to remind you of the availability of payroll deduction for your CNU giving. We have also included a payroll deduction schedule for your convenience. If you have questions regarding your giving, please phone the Annual Fund office at 594-7871.
